Kingswood Cal Ripken (KCRBL) has joined Farmington 500 Boys Club to form an interleague fall baseball experience that offers our players, who were in Minors or Majors this past spring or those who will be in those levels next spring, an opportunity to continue to develop their baseball skills and experience.
You can register your youth athlete on our website for fall baseball TODAY. You will see the two levels to which players can be registered - Majors (12u) and Minors (10u). The registration is $70 per player, which covers shirts, hats, umps for home game days, insurance, and game balls. We anticipate forming one team of 11-15 players per level. If a level has enough signups for two teams, we will consider entering two teams. There are no cuts, tryouts, or evaluations.
Games will be mostly on Saturdays, with times varying. Teams play one or two games. The committed participating leagues are Kingswood, Farmington 500, Belmont, and Wakefield. Another league or two may still commit.
Teams can practice at The Nick. The typical fall baseball schedule is one practice per week (though coaches/teams can schedule more), whichever afternoon/evening works best for the team, and a game or doubleheader on Saturdays.
The game season will run September 7, 2024, to October 26, 2024. Once we have confirmed number of teams/leagues, the game schedule will be developed.
The athletes are able to play by what their league age was in Spring 2024 or bump up to the level they will play in Spring 2025. Each weekend a different town/organization will host games. The hosting town is responsible for umpires, baseballs, and field setup on their weekends only. Right now, with current league commitments, Kingswood would host two weekends and travel to other hosts the other weekends.
Practices may begin the week of August 5.
