UpdatedSaturday March 23, 2019 byKCRBL Officers.

  1. DISCIPLINARY OPTION
    1. Regular season only, not playoffs, coach may bench a player for arriving late frequently or for being disruptive or unruly after being spoken to. Player is to remain in the batting order but will not play for up to 2 innings or may be removed if continuing to be disruptive. Coach must announce the disciplinary option to the umpire and opposing coach.
  2. PROTECTIVE GEAR
    1. Catchers are required to wear a protective cup. All players are strongly encouraged to wear protective cups.
    2. Coaches must inform parents of the availability (or lack thereof) of batting helmets with face guards (cages). It is the parent’s responsibility to have their child use face guards if they choose to.
  3. GAME CANCELLATIONS
    1. Coaches may cancel games up to 90 minutes before scheduled game time (e.g., 4 p.m. for a 5:30 p.m. game time) by mutual agreement of both teams.
    2. The home team coach must reschedule with the league within 72 hours or take a forfeit.
    3. Once games have started, the game official (i.e., umpire) will decide when to stop play due to weather or darkness. See divisional house rules for more details.
  4. BENCH RULE—SAFETY
    1. All players must remain on the team bench when not assigned to the field or batting. This is a safety issue. Coaches may allow restroom runs.
  5. UNIFORMS
    1. All players must be in uniforms to play, this includes hats and team shirts.
  6. APPROACHING OFFICIALS
    1. Only team managers are allowed to approach the officials during games.
    2. Team managers may request umpires to remove unruly spectators from the field area, which includes the area in foul territory from where spectators are permitted to watch.
  7. PLAYS AT HOME PLATE
    1. No charging the catcher. Runner must slide or run around the catcher making a play.
    2. The catcher must allow runner through if not making a play.
  8. OTHER RULES
    1. All other rules as per Cal Ripken Baseball League official rule book and KCRBL divisional house rules.
